Simona Pampallona is a freelance photographer.

Simona Pampallona, known as “Pamp”, was born in 1980 in Rome where she lives now.
She studied Languages and Foreign Literatures and at the same time she did a stage at the Asso­ciated press.
Thanks to various scholarships she had the possibili­ty to travel to Spain, Portugal, Great Britain and Latin America, taking back many pictures and fascina­tions, together with the belief to devote herself to pho­tojournalism especially to personal long term projects.
Part of this production are the works concerning squats for housing need, the commitment of the la­dies Rugby club “All Reds”, the migrant communi­ty in Rome, the agricultural villages of the Elf Val­ley, in Tuscany, and all over the world with the works about feminist and queer imprint post-pornography. So the contents concerning sexuality and gender rep­resent an area of strong interest in Pamp’s research.

She has been involved in the representation of the elec­tronic music scene as Flyer’s official photographer. In the meanwhile she follows her personal projects subjects an­ywhere there is the occasion of an interaction with reality, collaborating with studio macchinette

She works as still photographer for the Tempesta Film, working with Alice Rohrwacher for “Corpo Celeste” and “The wonders”. (Grand Prix Spécial du Jury 2014, Cannes), Happy as Lazzaro (Prix de le Scenario 2018,Cannes) and more other films.

Simona Pampallona è una fotografa freelance.

Simona Pampallona, known as “Pamp”, è nata a Roma nel 1980, dove vive tuttora.

Ha studiato Lingue e Letterature Straniere all’Università Roma Tre, anni in cui frequenta uno stage all’Associated Press.
Grazie a diverse borse di studio ha la possibilità di viaggiare in Spagna, Portogallo, Inghilterra ed America Latina e, a casa, riporta una miriade di immagini e di suggestioni, insieme a una convinzione: quella di dedicarsi al fotogiornalismo e, in modo particolare, a progetti personali a lungo termine.
A questa serie appartengono i lavori dedicati alle occupazioni a scopo abitativo, all’impegno della squadra di rugby femminile “All Reds”, alle comunità dei migranti a Roma, ai villaggi agricoli della Valle degli Elfi, in Toscana, e, in giro per il mondo, alla post-pornografia di matrice femminista e queer. I contenuti inerenti la sessualità e il genere rappresentano un’area di interesse molto forte nella ricerca di Pamp.

Ha lavorato come fotografa ufficiale della “Flyer” per la scena underground musicale, e segue progetti personali legati all’interazione, collaborando con studio macchinette

Lavora come fotografa di scena per Tempesta Film, e ha lavorato con Alice Rohrwacher per “Corpo Celeste” e “Le meraviglie” (Gran premio della Giuria Cannes 2014), Lazzaro Felice (2018, Premio della Sceneggiatura, Cannes)e altri film.
